Poodles & Tigers & Elephants Layout

Happy Easter to everyone. Hope you are all having a blessed day with families, and that you have a few moments to sneak off to your scrapping place! I've moved on from scrapping about the Natural History Museum (three layouts is enough for me) and have some circus photos to scrap. Circus photos are always a challenge because, due to the lighting, so few of them come out well. I managed to use a few pictures despite the pinkish-purple cast to the photos.

Butterfly Pavilion Layout

I put together two sketches for this layout (see below) and had fun figuring out how to tie the two different looks together. I finally decided the butterfly theme was enough, although I did add wooden flowers to each page.
I couldn't get a great scan because the courderoy brads were so thick, but hopefully you get the idea!

Got Milk? Layout

I loved these pictures of my boys scarfing down Oreos, but I had the hardest time figuring out how to scrap them. Finally, with the help of a few challenges, I came up with an idea and ran with it! Thanks to Lasting Memories for their Black Tie Affair challenge (I went with lots of black); Sketch-n-Scrap for their Throwback Thursday Sketch #3; Heart to Heart for their Fern color challenge (inspired me to use my Fern paper and ink pad for the first time) and Scrapbook Challenges for their Chevron challenge.

Natural History Museum Layout

Since this layout contained a hodge-podge of pictures from the Natural History Museum, it was hard to figure out how to tie them all together, but I eventually decided to go with the dinosaur theme, with a little nod to the gem collection via the "you rock" stamping. Does everyone get that the mountains are actually volcanoes covered with lava, or do I need to add an eruption to one of them?
Recipe:
Roar! stamp set
Saddle, Cocoa, Orange, Cashmere, Garden Green & White Daisy cardstock
Cocoa, Desert Sand, & Garden Green ink

Boom! Layout

Here's one of the layouts I got done at my scrapbook retreat this weekend. I used the March sketch I created for Splitcoast Stampers:

The Heart to Heart challenge blog issued a challenge to be inspired by the number three, so my layout has three photos and three types of shapes: pennants, stars, and circles. Hope that's enough threes!
Recipe:
Boom! stamp set

Celebrate America Layout

It's been a busy week and I'm getting ready to head off to a scrapbook retreat tomorrow, but I wanted to share a layout I finished this week. Everyone seems to be working on St. Patrick's day pictures this week, so there are a lot of challenges featuring green, but I happened to be scrapping July 4th pictures. I did manage to play along with the green themed mood board challenge at Creating with Paper and More. I loved the row of hearts dangling from string, so that idea inspired me to hang some of the stars on my layout. Click on the link above to play along with this fun challenge!

Forever Friends Layout

Life has been very stressful lately, and I have been sick for four weeks with a flu bug, so I haven't felt much like scrapping. After a two month scrapbooking hiatus, I finally sat down and created a layout today. Woohoo! It feels good to have some mojo back. Hopefully it will continue through this weekend when I go on a scrapbook retreat. Anyway, here's the layout I created as part of the scrapbook I'm putting together for our former pastor's wife. FYI: I used some lyrics from Michael W. Smith's song Friends as my journaling. The song was written in 1983, but the words are still powerful today!
